Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Finally this movie has arrived in The Netherlands. I saw it yesterday evening, read more at a much better entry (than this one): A Pirate's Life.

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie, and I am pleased to hear that a sequel is in the works. The performances of Depp and Rush were particularly entertaining.

The last pirate film I saw was dreadful (it had Geena Davis in it), so I am glad to see the genre revived properly.

  2. I saw the movie a few days ago and I have to say I'm somewhat dissapointed. Instead of a Disney Comedy it could have been more of a thriller/horror, but I also understand why Disney has chosen otherwise. But they could have saved something on all the corny jokes.

The performance of Johnny Depp and his opponent was indeed very pleasing. I enjoyed the film and I'll probably will go the the sequel as well, but don't expect real thrills.

O, and I'll just tell you that they're probably planning a prequel as well, since that's what they do these days. Mark my words...

  3. I enjoyed the movie more than you can emagine. I went back to see it an additional three times. (As a total of four)I've already bought the CD. Depp's performance was thoroughly enjoying to watch. The comedy was funny, and Bloom and Depp seemed very into the movie. I'm definatly buying the DVD and seeing the sequal.
